For the most part, people that decide to take up bodybuilding see the physique of professionals; professional bodybuilders, boxers, or weight lifters, or any other kind of professional. People choose to start bodybuilding because they want to emulate these people. People look at them, and see the power they have through their bodies, so it is normal to desire to have the same thing. For many of us, it is something that we will not be able to do, and for others, it takes years of training that is totally committed. The goal that you see in your head when you begin is something that is years away from reality. First, the groundwork has to be laid.
Before you can really start to build muscle, you have to be toned. This will be done first in your bodybuilding regime. Small weights have to be lifted before even thinking about trying to lift the large ones. Progression is what it is about. You will cause injury to yourself, when you attempt to do too much too soon, and when this happens you won’t be able to do any training. The most important thing to do, is to pace yourself for the hard work that you will be putting your body through.
There are some people that are built more slender naturally than others are. However, people who have more thin physiques can certainly gain muscle, although it may not be as pronounced as people will larger natural builds. You can actually move more quickly when you have a more slender physique, and this can be great in the first stages of bodybuilding, and also for building up the reps.
